What is your style?

Our style is a combination of images taken in natural soft light and artificial dynamic light.

Soft natural light is wonderful for great portraits and weddings as it shows less imperfection of texture or distracting shadow, but it often depends on other factors such as time, weather, location, etc. To achieve good natural light source, we often reply on sunrise or sunset time, or cloudy (and possibly cold) weather, or shading places under the tree or behind a big building.

Sometimes waiting for sunset to come or clouds to move or trees to grow tall and big is not ideal, so we will have to use artificial lights such as flash or LED lights to balance the harsh and hot light from the sun. These lights are often diffused to softer lights to help us capture images more consistently and faster. They are also useful to create dynamic photos with great dynamic back-lit or silhouette photos.

How do you use or setup lights during receptions or indoor event?

We often try to set up 3-point lighting for indoor venues with off-camera flashes for photo or constant light for video (LED or hot florescent). This allow us to have less noise in images and footage and reply less on aperture opening. It means our images will look cleaner and/ or have a bit more depth. We usually come to the venues early to set up and test the lights. We rarely move these lights during key activities, but we also have some portable lights in case of unexpected change.

Can you create with a certain style I want?

We are confident that we can satisfy your expectation with our decent expertise, but we need to know more about your request and plan. We will have to do research to determine whether time, location and any other potential factor will affect our style or image or not. We will work on resolutions for those factors, but sometimes they may not work perfectly.

I'm not a model, how do you pose or direct clients?

No worry, we will give you brief instruction or moderate direction during our portrait sessions. But we want you to act naturally and be yourself most of the time. We do not give you instruction during an event activity except which direction may be the best to turn or stand for the lighting or image before it starts. We only provide brief consultation regarding what you should do or avoid for event activities if you want to have our opinion.
