What else do you offer?
We listen and review what the client really needs, and provide clients ideas and plans to make a fun and great session or event. Sometimes things don't go according to plans, so we think of potential problems or factors that could ruin the date and prepare some possible resolutions to save the date in advance or at the moment.
How far do you travel?
We are based in the East Bay of San Francisco, but we will travel up to 100 miles from Oakland or Hayward. We can travel further if our schedule and logistic permit.
How much are your services and products?
Please drop us an email with your needs and details about your event or wedding such as date, time, venue, your expectation and concern. We will review your inquiry and schedule a meeting with you in personal or video chat. There we will discuss information you gave us and questions you or we may have. Once we know well about your need, expectation and concern, we will provide you an estimation of our services and products.
Why does your quote seem very expensive?
There are many factors to influence our price estimations, but they all include a contingency budget ($500 - $1,000). We do not want to penny-pinch clients minor extra fees such as unexpectedly changed parking or permit, overtime, retouching or re-editing photos and videos, modifications to print or video orders, etc. If we do not use it in the end, we will be happy to give you extra credit for prints or albums or other physical products.
How do we book you?
Awesome. We will send you a proposed contract filled with your provided details and services & products we offer based on your needs. We can complete a booking online after a video chat to review the terms of the contract or by mail or in person.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, we require a retainer to reserve the date for you. We may return a portion of it if the booking is cancelled by you, but the retainer amount becomes fully non-refundable when we have to turn away another client or finish booking our staffs for your event.
Do you scout locations in advance?
We research about the venues and surrounding areas in advance, but we usually do not visit locations for photo sessions or events. We will come to the venue early or prepare amble time to walk through the venue before the key activities start. On the other hand, we often visit the venues in advance for video sessions or events to get B-roll or establishing shots and plan equipment and crew coordination properly.
Why do you need to know about other vendors and how do you work with other vendors?
We would like to introduce ourselves to other vendors and look forward to working with them as a team. We really have to reply on the professionalism and courtesy of other vendors to help us do our job well as our job is to capture and preserve beautiful and precious moments that usually happen only once. For example, we will need to arrange ample time and proper coordination to set up cameras and lights with the planner or arrange audio feed from the DJ for the ceremony and the toasts/ speeches. We also need to know whether the DJ or lighting designer will have a very bright spot light during the event so that we can arrange proper lighting or setup to balance and capture it properly.
What is your estimated delivery timeline?
These are our delivery time estimation:
Processing & editing photos take 2-3 weeks for portrait sessions. It takes 1-4 extra weeks for clients to preview/ review the edited photos online or in person or by mail. After all editing review is done, it takes about 2-3 weeks for print orders to be delivered. Album or book orders take 2-4 more weeks for clients to review and receive.
It takes 4-8 weeks to process & editing photos for events or weddings. Based on their customized packages, clients will receive the proofs and/ or album previews in 2-4 weeks extra. After all editing review is done, it takes 3-4 weeks for print orders to be delivered. Album orders take 2-4 more weeks for clients to receive.
Processing & editing non-event videos take 2-4 weeks. It takes 2-4 extra weeks to finish clients' modification requests. Animation or motion graphic takes 3-6 more weeks in addition to the above estimation.
For events or weddings, it takes 6-15 weeks to complete a highlight video (3-5 minutes). Modification requests take 2-4 more weeks to complete. Chapter or extra video orders take 6-12 extra weeks to finish in addition to the above estimation.
Actual delivery time may be extended for weddings or events occur in the summer.
Do you offer raw or unedited images or videos?
We only offer raw or unedited images and/ or videos to corporations or limited small businesses with a full copyright transfer or unlimited & exclusive license agreement. Our services include an online gallery hosted on my website or vimeo. But we offer edited & watermarked photos in low resolution format for private & individual clients so that they can share directly to their families & friends online. We will release high resolution version of the photos to them 6 months after the delivery of the album or last physical product for archival purpose. Our edited video(s) for all clients will be in high resolution (1080p).
